          fabric fun

this past weekend, i finally tackled a large project that has been floating around in my thoughts for quite some time. inspired by a piece at anthropologie, it's a fabric experiment.

i hand dyed all the fabric in several stages. in blue shades for the small torn strips. and in a bright orange for the base.

my parents came down to my house for the day to help me bring the wood home. and my dad help me assemble the structure in the living room.
I made all the wood cuts, except for one that seemed above my level.
as you can kinda see, the structure is BIG. 8'x6'.

after the structure was made, i stapled the fabric to the back. mounting it to the wall was the next step and we were finished!
I am very happy how it finally turned out!
